長い夜

最近また引っ越しをしたわたしですが、ベルリンに来てからの11ヶ月間で既に3回も引っ越しをしているという事に気付きました。

ちょっと日本では考えられませんよね。自分でもびっくり。

ベルリンは若者に人気の街かつ、たくさんのアーティストの集まる街のようで、なかなか部屋探しも大変なのです。

そして滞在期間は未確定なわたしは家具類一式を全て揃えるわけにもいかず、又貸しの部屋を転々としたりで、早くも11ヶ月が過ぎようとしています。
今までベルリンの4つの地区に住んでみたわたしですが、どれもそれぞれ違った雰囲気と魅力があってそれらを知れたとても良い期間になりました。
最初の1ヶ月を中心のミッテで過ごし、その後3ヶ月をプレンツラウアーベルグ、6ヶ月をノイケルン、そして今はフリードリヒシュハインという所に住んでいます。

ベルリンに来ようと決めた時、憧れだったヨーロッパらしい大きいドアのある家、そして綺麗な彫刻の施された壁や天井のある家に住みたいと思っていました。
ベルリンは建物がとてもカラフルで、東ドイツ時代に建てられたものや古くから残っているものまで様々です。
そして、ベルリンの特徴と言われているグラフィティアートの数々もお散歩の楽しみでもあります。

ベルリンは今までわたしが住んでいた所とちょっと違っていて、最初に来た時には少し戸惑いました。
道にはたくさんの空き瓶、割れた瓶やゴミが散乱し、昼間から酔っぱらった人々を見るのも稀ではありません。
どこへ行っても、そういう光景を見る度に「ここは危険だ！」と思ったり、「怖いな」と思ったので、一番初めの家探しはちょっと大変でした。
でも、今はこれがベルリンの魅力のひとつでもあると思っています。

各地区のお店やレストラン、公園。人々の雰囲気。
全部がとても素敵に思えます。
そして今までに住んだ、3カ所の部屋。
時々、その部屋の窓から見えた景色が恋しくなりますが。

ベルリン生活。
始まった当初は色々不安もありましたが、まだまだやめられそうにありません。
まさに、住めば都。

smells like long night

Come to think of it, I've already moved 3 times in Berlin since I came here 11 months ago.
This is something, isn't it?
Finding a room is pretty hard in Berlin.
It seems Berlin is very popular among young people and many artists want to live here.
I've already lived in 4 areas in Berlin.
And actually it was very nice experience to get the grasp of each area and explore them.
I had spent a month in Mitte, 3 months in Prenzlauer Berg, 6 months in Neukölln and now I live in Friedrichshain.

When I decided to come to Berlin, I was dreaming to live in a building which has a big European door and nicely decorated ceilings.
Berlin has very colorful buildings and nice classic buildings (even with graffiti!)

However Berlin is very different where I used to live.

Lots of broken beer bottled or trash are on the street and I could see many drunkards.

So my first room hunt was pretty tough.

Wherever I went, I felt like "Oh, this area seems very dangerous! I shouldn't live here!"

However after 11 months, I proudly say I've learned what Berlin is like.

Now I love the different charm each area has.

But also I miss the view from my windows I had lived in these 10 months.

Home is where you make it, indeed.
